Mo Travels summer, or what I like to call Trains, Planes and Automobiles 2012 is finally underway, and being the repeat offenders that we are, that pretty much means following the same route through France we have taken in years past on our way to Porquerolles, with a few stops along the way.
Day 1 & 2
Just long enough to put our car on the auto train, and since It also happened to be Bastille Day, to enjoy some of the celebrations going on, including a spectacular fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower.
As I mentioned before we don't usually celebrate the 4th of July, however, since our annual summer pilgrimage to France often coincides with the Bastille Day and celebrating a nation's independence day in July with fireworks and surrounded by plenty of red, white and blue I kinda feel like I get to have my freedom fries and eat them, too.
During our brief stay, we checked into the Hotel St. James Paris, which quite honestly should be renamed Hotel St. Rubin as many times as we've stayed there. The little ladies where babies the first time we stayed there, and feel as at home there as they do in their own home. I guess that's one of the great advantages of repeatedly going to the same places.
After one night in our home away from home, we took a plane to Toulouse where we picked up the car from the train station and will spend the next few days.
